WATER-BASED PU COATING

All pinqponq products are constantly being revised and improved, both in terms of performance and production. We rely more and more on state-of-the-art technology to meet our sustainability standards.

The fabrics for our protective covers and wet compartments are an exception here. In order to guarantee protection against rain and moisture, we unfortunately still have to use a solvent-based PU coating for these fabrics. We are working on an improvement.

Our fabrics are coated with a water-based polyurethane (PU) layer. In most cases, a solvent-based PU is used to make the fabric weatherproof. This can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to both humans and nature. Water-based PU has the advantage that no fossil raw materials are required for its production, making it more environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
